National Black Arts Festival
The National Black Arts Festival is a summer festival that's among the highlights of Atlanta's annual calendar of events. Held every July, the much-acclaimed Black Arts Festival showcases performing arts, literature and visual arts produced by creative artists of African descent.
Artists featured during the 2009 National Black Arts Festival will include such well-known African-American performers as Dianne Reeves, Lizz Wright, Rashaad Patterson, Choklate, Lisa Simone Kelly, Joi, and many more. Musical performances, creative dance and other exciting events will make this festival come to life!
Also on the 2009 National Black Arts Festival schedule are the NBAF Artists Market and a Children's Education Village. Attendees at this year's National Black Arts Festival may participate in a DNA project that will allow them to trace their African roots.
The National Black Arts Festival was first held in Atlanta in 1988.
